A bit about me

Design, music, and the things that make me want to keep learning.

It started with Photoshop

I’m Santi. I live in General Roca, in Argentine Patagonia, and work as a product and interface designer. I like understanding how things work and finding ways to make them clearer. Sometimes that becomes a screen; other times, a conversation, a component, or a small application.

My interest in design started when I was around 12. A friend, Julián, showed me Photoshop and what it could do. I began making cards, designs, and flyers: whatever was needed. I didn’t know about digital product design yet, but I had already found something I enjoyed spending time on.

During the pandemic, I started a venture with a startup. That experience introduced me to interface design, and I fell in love with it. Visual design became connected to new questions: what does someone need to understand, what decision do they need to make, and how can we help them move forward?

Following design through to the product

I worked as a UI/UX Designer at Paisanos between 2021 and 2025, on projects including RUS Seguros, Claro Pay, and Boca Juniors. At Amply, between 2023 and 2024, I focused more on branding and website design. Each experience broadened how I look at a product: how it works, its identity, and how it presents itself.

Since 2025, I’ve been working at LizzyAI as the designer on the founding team. I take care of branding, the website, and the product; I also designed a book. Being the only designer led me to move between disciplines, talk with engineers, and follow decisions through until they worked in the actual product.

I’m especially interested in what happens between one screen and the next. Loading states, errors, messages, and small details shape the experience too. I try to understand the problem before choosing a solution, simplify where possible, and document our decisions so the context lives beyond Figma.

Learning by making

Lately, I spend more time in Codex than in Figma. I’m bringing AI into my process and designing directly in code to explore behavior, check states, and adjust details as I build. I enjoy reaching the point where an idea starts working for real.

I’m also making applications for my own needs. One helps me record the setlist for an upcoming event with my band. Having something specific I want to use gives me a reason to explore: I can try it, find what’s missing, and work on it again.

AI expands what I can do, while judgment remains part of my work. I want to learn to build more and collaborate better with other disciplines. Jakub’s posts and skills, along with Emil Kowalski’s approach, have helped me explore that direction. I still have a lot to learn, and I enjoy doing it as I design.

Away from the screen

I’m married to Karen, and we have a little black cat named Kari. We enjoy talking over mate, eating pizza, and going out for an afternoon snack. I’m introverted and need some time to feel comfortable; once I do, I like talking a lot and have a good sense of humor.

Music is an important part of my life. I play the saxophone and studied at IUPA. I love reggae: I listen to Sig Ragga, Nonpalidece, and Gondwana. I lead a choir in my Christian community and teach music to children and teenagers. I see myself as someone who encourages them to learn.

Teaching makes me revisit things I take for granted, find another explanation, and respect each person’s pace. That practice also shapes how I design and collaborate. My Christian faith is central to my life and connected to how I think about service, responsibility, and relationships.

I want this space to bring some of those things together: the work I do, what I’m learning, and what matters to me. I love Argentina and the passion we put into what we do. From here, I’m continuing to explore how design, product, code, and music connect, with a desire to build and share the process.
